JK's BBQ Pit LLC officially started in 2023, but its story began long before. Jason, the "J" in JK's BBQ Pit, has fond memories of growing up at his grandparents' house, surrounded by numerous hickory trees. He often had cookouts with his grandfather, where the distinctive hickory flavor left a lasting impression, as did his grandfather's nickname, Ole Hickory. These cherished memories and flavors inspired the creation of the company.

In 2008, Jason met Krystal, the "K" in JK's BBQ Pit. Together, they began developing exceptional seasonings. Krystal's Mennonite background, inherited from her grandparents, imbued her with a deep appreciation for traditional foods and seasonings. She loved spending time in the kitchen with her grandmothers and mother, always valuing the art of cooking from scratch.
